What is asystole?
asystole is a medical card game for medical students and doctors. Two teams describe and guess medical terms without saying the forbidden words printed on each card. Each round lasts 90 seconds.
What language are the cards in?
The edition available to order directly here has 200 cards with 800 medical terms in English. The German edition is a separate product, linked in the buying section.
How many people can play?
The English edition is designed for four to eight players in two teams. One person describes a term, their team guesses, and the other team checks for forbidden words.
Is it useful for medical students?
It is a shared game for people with medical knowledge. Describing terms gives you practice explaining concepts in different ways and a reason to speak medical English together. It does not cover a complete examination syllabus.
Is it a suitable gift for a doctor?
It suits people who enjoy medicine and playing games together: for graduation, a birthday, a study group or colleagues. Check whether the recipient would prefer cards in English or German.
Do I need an app or subscription?
The cards are a physical game. The free ECG round timer runs in a browser without registration or a subscription. A QR code in the box opens it.
